ST. FELIX, P.E.I. — The driver of a dirt bike has been transferred to the IWK Children’s Hospital in Halifax following a collision with a car near Tignish, Sunday afternoon.

Sgt. Neil Logan with Prince District RCMP was not releasing the age or the gender of the dirt biker operator but said the youth sustained serious injuries in the crash.

The incident occurred around 4:30 pm.

Logan said the dirt bike was travelling east on the Haywood Road in St. Felix, just outside of Tignish, when it overshot a stop sign and ran into the side of a car travelling north on the Christopher Road.
