A woman remains in hospital after being struck by a vehicle in New Glasgow Nov. 7.
Just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Queens District RCMP responded to an emergency on Route 13 where a young woman was walking when she was struck by a vehicle travelling in a southern direction.
Police believe the collision was a result of a number of factors: the woman walking on the travelling portion of the roadway; the sun obscuring the vision of the vehicle driver; and, the collision taking place on a blind crest.
The woman, who is not from Canada but on the Island visiting, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she remains and is being treated for serious but for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police continue to investigate the incident and are asking the public to come forward if anyone witnessed the collision.
