White Cross volunteers are preparing to brighten the holidays for clients of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).
For more than 45 years, the P.E.I. division of CMHA has been distributing gifts to people feeling alone and forgotten at the holidays.
More and more people live with mental illness and the need for the White Cross gifts is growing.
White Cross drop-off boxes are located throughout Prince County in Summerside, Kensington, Tyne Valley, Alberton, Tignish and O’Leary.
Welcomed items are small, unwrapped gifts of a personal nature such as chocolates, cosmetics, gift cards, winter gloves/hats, shampoo and body wash.
Gifts will be collected on Dec. 6 in Alberton and on Dec. 15 in Summerside.
