CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Visitor precautions are in place at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s rehabilitation unit because several patients are experiencing gastro-intestinal illness.
Until further notice, the hospital is limiting visitation to no more than two people at a time for no longer than one hour at a time.
Precautions are also in place at Summerset Manor for the same reason and Health P.E.I. is asking visitors to stay home if they are feeling unwell.
Health P.E.I. is reminding everyone going to the province’s hospitals or long-term care facilities to clean their hands before and after entering a patient’s room, a department, and when they enter or leave a facility.
Alcohol hand rinse stations are available throughout health-care facilities for that reason.
