CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The 14th annual Sisters in Spirit Vigils will take place Friday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at Confederation Landing Park in Charlottetown.

The event is being co-organized by the Aboriginal Women’s Association of P.E.I. in partnership with the Native Women’s Association of Canada.

The theme this year is Call to Justice: Putting a Face on Justice.

P.E.I. Senator Brian Francis, Premier Dennis King, P.E.I. Indigenous leaders, police officers and members of the Indigenous community will be present.

Each year, family members, Indigenous community members and supports gather on Oct. 4 at Parliament Hill, P.E.I. and across the country. The gathering supports women and families who have been impacted by violence.
