SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - Police in Prince County have arrested two American men for, among other things, allegedly being in Canada illegally.
The arrests happened a day apart, on April 14 and 15.
Both men, a 34 year old and a 47 year old have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in court this week.
Eric Michael Bartell, 47, of Delaware, was the first to be arrested. He was detained in Kensington by Kensington police and East Prince RCMP with help from the Canada Border Services Agency.

He has been charged with one count under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for being in Canada after having been deported on March 9.
The younger man, Calvin Evans Gregory, 34, was detained following an incident on April 11 in which Summerside police received a complaint of theft from the Granville Street Liquor Store. The staff reported a man, who had a small child with him, had stolen some merchandise.
Police released an image of the suspect in the hopes of identifying him.
Officers received a tip on Sunday and arrested the suspect at the Summerside Superstore.
He has been charged by Summerside police with theft and has outstanding matters with the Charlottetown Police and RCMP.
In investigating this case, police learned that the suspect has allegedly been in Canada illegally since 2016 and has an outstanding warrant in the U.S.
The child noted in the first incident at the Granville Street Liquor Store was with the suspect when he was detained at the Superstore and is currently with family on the Island.
Gregory made a brief court appearance in Summerside Monday morning but his case was set over until May 17 as he is facing another court date in Charlottetown on May 14.
