School closures and delays
Due to ongoing issues with snow removal throughout the province, all Public Schools Branch and French language schools are closed for the day.
Grace Christian School is also closed for the day due to current road conditions.
Weather
There will be a mix of sun and cloud today with 60 per cent chance of flurries. Wind northwest 40 km/h gusting to 70 km/h. The temperature will remain steady near -4 C, but with wind chill it will feel like -14 C.
Tonight, a few clouds with wind northwest 30 km/h gusting to 50 km/h becoming west 20 km/h after midnight. Tonight’s low is -8 C, but with wind chill it will feel like -10 C in the evening and -15 C overnight.

Maritime Electric
A tree that fell on a power line left about 900 customers without power, but Maritime Electric crews have since restored power this morning to those customers.

Northumberland Ferries
ADVISORY: Due to the forecast by Environment Canada for Dec. 19, the 8 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. crossings from Wood Islands, and the 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. crossings from Caribou are cancelled. A further decision will be made for 4:30 p.m. crossing from Wood Islands and the 6:15 p.m. crossing from Caribou.
