Two impaired drivers charged in Charlottetown over long weekend

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 20-year-old St Felix man has been charged with impaired driving after being pulled over by police early Sunday morning.

Charlottetown police noticed a vehicle driving in the wrong direction on Kent Street on Nov. 10 at about 1:20 a.m.

The vehicle was pulled over and police determined the driver was impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

A 40-year-old Charlottetown woman also faces an impaired driving charge.

Nov. 11 at about 1:45 p.m., police responded to a complaint of an intoxicated woman getting into a vehicle and driving away on Mount Edward Road.

Police located the vehicle a short time later and arrested the driver for impaired driving.

The two accused P.E.I. residents will appear in provincial court at a later date.
