CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Twelve Charlottetown elementary school children will have their artwork featured in a local calendar.
Last month, the city partnered with the Town of Stratford to expand the Water School Program.
The town has provided water conservation education to Grade 5 students in Stratford and the surrounding area since 2011.
This year, Charlottetown has joined forces to expand the program and extend to Grade 5 students in the capital, Stratford and surrounding areas.
Student’s whose artwork was selected for the calendar include:
- Cameron Dickinson, West Royalty Elementary School
- Angela Warwick, Parkdale Elementary School
- Alyson Scott, West Royalty Elementary School
- Ava Dow, West Kent Elementary School
- Timea Acatincai, West Kent Elementary School
- Anna Garrity, West Kent Elementary School
- Sophia Erdogan, West Royalty Elementary School
- Londyn Clarke, Parkdale Elementary School
- Chloe Drake, Parkdale Elementary School
- Brooklyn MacLeod, Parkdale Elementary School
- Emmalea Walsh, West Royalty Elementary School
- Lily Gallant, Prince Street Elementary School
The program was part of the school curriculum and took place over four days with four elementary schools participating for a total of 204 students.
Part of the class involved an art contest where students were asked to create a drawing that represented something they learned from the program.
From the entries, 12 winning pieces of art were selected and will be displayed in a school calendar with one for each month.
There were also eight honorable mentions that will become a collage within the calendar.
