TSN anchor Kate Beirness said she plans on eating as much lobster as she can handle when they visit P.E.I. this weekend.
"This is my first trip to P.E.I. (and) I plan on eating as much lobster as I can fit into my body,'' Beirness laughed.
The 2013 Kraft Celebration Tour stopped in the Island community on Friday and will broadcast Sportscentre live from the banks of the Morell River Saturday between 4 and 5 p.m. with anchors Kate Beirness and Rod Smith.

TSN shot segments on Friday at The Links at Crowbush Cove and the Morell Co-op grocery store. Beirness and Smith were also scheduled to head out on the water for some deep sea fishing.
"We want to see Crowbush,'' Beirness told The Guardian. "Everyone speaks about the golf course and how fantastic it is. We do a grocery store visit in between and Rod and I are pushing fishing. Mackerel is in season so we'll slap on the rain jackets and rain hats and see if we can catch some fish.''
The Kraft Celebration Tour begins in earnest Saturday at 2 p.m. at Rossiter Park. TSN and Kraft along with over 100 volunteers from across P.E.I. will be hosting events like the NHL on TSN hockey shootout, amooza inflatable slide, bouncy castle, community barbecue, TSN and local celebrity autograph tent, street hockey games, local entertainment and much more.
This will be Beirness's third Kraft tour and she's having a blast.
"We get treated like rock stars. We get treated way too well. This year is probably going to be the craziest (tour) that I've ever been on, that's for sure.''
Beirness hinted that she's going to make Smith dance to Justin Bieber music in Morell. Let's just say former TSN anchors Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole have had some fun with Smith.
TSN producers teamed Smith and Bierness up earlier this week to prepare the duo for the tour. It's the first time in 12 years Smith has had a co-anchor.
While it's Beirness's first trip to P.E.I., Smith was here with the Canada Games four years ago. But Smith is still a neophyte when it comes to the Kraft tour.
"Kate has been to two of these,'' Smith says. "I hope (we get) a chance to do a little bit of fishing and have a bit of lobster and do a little bit of golfing. That says P.E.I. in the summertime for me so I hope we get to do that.''
Smith said one of things that appealed to him most about signing up for his first Kraft tour was the chance to visit small communities.
"You tend to find genuine people in smaller communities, more willing to share of themselves,'' he said. "That's one of the concepts I love about this tour.''

Rod Smith
- Before his role on Sportscentre, he anchored TSN's studio coverage of CFL and baseball.
- He's a former offensive guard with the Queen's University Golden Gaels.
- Was honoured with the first-ever Canadian Screen Award for best sports play-by-play announcing in 2013 for his work at the London Olympics.
- Earned a Gemini Award nomination for best sports play-by-play for the Vancouver Olympics.
- Joined TSN in 1987 as an editorial assistant for Sportscentre and became a full-time reporter in 1992 before anchoring Sportscentre in 1995.
Kate Beirness
- Joined TSN from the network's sister station in Barrie where she was the sports anchor and videographer.
- Former sports anchor with Rogers TV Durham.
- Born and raised in Port Perry, Ont.
- Graduate of the University of Ontario.
- Played competitive basketball in high school and had hopes of playing point guard at the CIS level until a torn ACL forced her to abandon her dream. She then refocused her energy on a career in sports broadcasting.
