CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — P.E.I.’s largest truck convoy will be held as part of the P.E.I. Law Enforcement Torch Run on Aug. 25 in support of Special Olympics P.E.I.
The convoy will start at 10 a.m. from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) office at 165 John Yeo Dr.
The top fundraising truck will receive the honour of lead truck and will guide the convoy on a loop through the P.E.I. National Park — Brackley to Dalvay — and back to DFO for a celebration which is open to the community and includes a barbecue lunch presented by the Parkdale-Sherwood Lions Club.
This event is a celebration of the trucking industry and its support of Special Olympics.
Last year’s event drew a convoy of 28 trucks, including drivers from off-Island.
Any truckers interested in taking part can do so by downloading the registration package from peiletr.com, by emailing [email protected] or by calling Thomas Annear at 902-969-4619.
