Trial dates set in fatal P.E.I. watercraft collision case

['A recent court order granted by P.E.I. Supreme Court Justice Gordon Campbell will mean a couple will have to be separated after 60 years of marriage in order for the wife to receive the 24-hour nursing home care she needs.']

A P.E.I. man who was charged with dangerous operation of a vessel after a fatal collision in August has entered a not guilty plea.

Morgan Arnold MacLeod was not in P.E.I. Supreme Court Tuesday where a lawyer entered the plea on his behalf.

MacLeod was allegedly operating a personal watercraft when it collided with another that a 21-year-old man was using in the Charlottetown Harbour area.

Carter Michael Wood later died in hospital from his injuries.

MacLeod’s trial is scheduled to run four days starting Oct. 21.
