CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Motorists are advised there will be a double lane closure on May 16-17 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Riverside Drive between Garfield Street and Exhibition Drive in the eastbound lanes (headed towards the Hillsborough Bridge).

Sidewalks within the construction area will also be closed. Traffic control personnel will be on site and detours will be in place.

This closure is necessary for work on the East Royalty sewer trunkline upgrade project.

The project is a component of the overall project to decommission the East Royalty lagoon.

This portion of the project includes the replacement of a sewer main that transports sewage from the Westcomb Crescent to the roundabout at the intersection of Exhibition and Riverside drives.

The work involves about 2,800 metres of sewer main and about 40 manholes.
