Three women charged following altercation at Charlottetown business

Three women face charges after police were dispatched to a business on Euston Street in Charlottetown Monday night in response to an altercation.

Upon arrival at about 11:50 p.m. on Aug. 3, Charlottetown police located two women, one of whom showed signs of being sprayed with pepper spray.

The investigation led police to a third woman who was involved in the altercation and showed signs of being assaulted.

All three women reside in Charlottetown, are known to each other and have all been charged.

Injuries sustained were minor and did not require medical attention.

A 35-year-old woman has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes, a 40-year-old woman has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and breach of probation, and a 24-year-old woman has been charged with obstruction of justice.

The women were released with conditions and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
