SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A 26-year-old Summerside man pleaded guilty to theft and other charges recently in

Summerside provincial court.

Joseph Roy Arsenault pleaded guilty to one count of stealing items valued at less than $5,000 from Circle K Irving in Summerside, one count of break and enter into a Summerside shed, one count of failing to attend court as required by a judge, one count of attempted theft of items valued at less than $5,000, and two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance, including methamphetamine and hydromorphone.

The charges are all from Summerside and took place between May and August 2019.

Arsenault was sentenced to serve 100 days in jail but received credit for seven days he’s already spent in custody. He must also serve 18 months of probation.
