CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The city is going to spend $35,000 to do some resurfacing work on the Victoria Park tennis courts.

Bourassa Sport Technologie Inc. has been awarded the contract.

Coun. Mitchell Tweel, chairman of the parks and recreation committee, said repairs will include filling in some of the newly formed cracks.

“We had a terrible winter,’’ Tweel said in reference to why repairs need to be done.

“(This will take care) of some of the deficiencies that have taken place as a result. We’re trying to bring back our tennis courts up to the standards and we’re trying to eliminate those deficiencies.’’
