SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – Summerside police have charged two more people with impaired driving after separate weekend incidents.
The first incident occurred Friday, Dec. 7 around 10 p.m. when police officers noticed a vehicle travelling the wrong way on a one-way portion of First Street. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 34-year-old Miscouche-area man, was arrested after showing signs of impairment.
Police said breath samples he provided were above the legal limit.
The second incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday after police saw a vehicle on Duke Street with no taillights.
The vehicle was stopped on Maple Avenue and the driver, a 24-year-old West Prince woman, was taken into custody after allegdly failing a roadside screening device test and providing breath samples that were twice the legal limit.
Both drivers will appear in court at a later date.
The vehicles have been impounded for 30 days.
