Summerside man pleads guilty to assaulting woman and breaching an undertaking

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A Travellers Rest man has pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon. 

The 23-year-old man was charged for an incident dating back to April 2019 where he threw a cup and hit a woman in the stomach. 

The man received five days imprisonment for the incident. While appearing in court recently, he also pleaded guilty to one count of breaching an undertaking and one count of obstruction of justice. 

He was sentenced to eight days of imprisonment, and 18 months of probation which he received permission to serve, in addition to his other sentence, intermittently.
