Summerside man guilty of break in and assault

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – Gary Wayne Shaw, 45, of Summerside has pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman and breaking into a Summerside home wherein he committed an assault.

Both charges are from May 2 in Summerside.

Shaw was sentenced to serve 365 days in jail but received credit for 78 days he’d already served since his arrest. He was also ordered to submit a DNA sample and is prohibited from owning weapons for three years. Shaw must also pay $300 in victim surcharges.
