SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — East Prince RCMP has a released sketch of the suspect in a January incident that took place in Central Bedeque.
On Friday, Jan. 31, between 10 and 10:30 p.m., a 21-year-old woman was assaulted while she was stopped on the side of Route 10 to deal with car trouble.
A second vehicle stopped, and the suspect offered to help the woman. Instead, he assaulted her and tried to rob her. The assailant was scared off by a passing vehicle, and the woman was able to call for help.
The RCMP has been investigating since the incident, and an RCMP sketch artist has completed a sketch of the suspect with the assistance of the victim.
The East Prince RCMP is seeking the assistance of the public to identify the suspect. Anyone who can identify the person in the sketch or who has information about the incident is asked to contact the East Prince RCMP or P.E.I. Crime Stoppers.
