CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Sir John A. Macdonald statue was recently vandalized again, this time with a mixture of yellow paint and candy.

The City of Charlottetown’s public works department said the latest incident occurred on Sunday night.

The city’s public works department had the statue encased in plastic earlier this week to protect the public as repairs commenced.

The city has spent almost $3,000 on sandblasting splashes of paint off the statue since incidents of vandalism started occurring last summer.
