Sex assault, other crimes gets Summerside man 60 days in jail

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – Orry Neil Nicholas Sharpe, 27, of no fixed address has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault, one count of assaulting a police officer and one count of mischief for damaging property that was not his.

The charge is dated from June 16 and 22 in Summerside.

Sharpe was sentenced to serve 60 days in jail, to be followed by 18 months of probation. He must also pay a $300 in victim surcharges.

Sharpe was also ordered to submit a DNA sample to the national criminal database, and his name will be added to the national criminal database for 10 years.

A publication ban is in place for any information which could be used to identify the victim of the sexual assault.
