A 48-year-old man who threatened to kill his estranged wife was sentenced to time served.
Credit of time and a half for the 45 days Edward George Willis was remanded in custody took care of sentences imposed Tuesday for uttering a threat, breach of undertaking and possession of amphetamine, a potent central nervous system stimulant.
Willis must also pay a $100 victim surcharge on each of the three convictions.
Chief provincial court Judge Nancy Orr stressed to Willis that his estranged wife does not want to reconcile the marriage.
Orr told Willis any contact with the woman would be at the discretion of his probation officer.
According to his lawyer, Willis was at an “all-time low’’ at the time of his offences in late March. Willis was battling drugs, forced to sell his home and dealing with the breakup of his marriage.
The lawyer noted, however, that Willis had spent his time in custody productively, taking advantage of programs like anger management.
