Salad kit recall expanded for Atlantic provinces

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has updated a food recall of Randsland brand Super Salad Kit from the marketplace due to Listeria monocytogen.
The recall warning was updated to include additional product information identified during the CFIA’s food safety investigation. The original recall was triggered by CFIA test results.
The expanded recall is for the Super Salad Kit in 454 gram sizes with the product code 090318 and universal product code of 0-57225-00005-6.
The product was distributed to New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and P.E.I.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
The public is asked to check if this recalled product is in their homes.
Recalled products should not be consumed and should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Anyone who thinks they may have become sick from consuming this product should call their doctor.
Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.
Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
Although infected pregnant women may experience only mild, flu-like symptoms, the infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or even stillbirth.
In severe cases of illness, people may die.
