Referendum P.E.I. is holding public meetings beginning this week across the province.

The purpose is to allow Gerard Mitchell, the referendum commissioner the ability to educate about the upcoming referendum on electoral reform which will be held in conjunction with the next provincial election.

Information will be provided about the Island’s current First Past the Post system, proportional representation, mixed member proportional as well as the rules pertaining to the referendum.

The schedule of Referendum P.E.I.’s information sessions can be found at referendumpei.ca and they will be held in other communities across the province.

Additional dates and communities will be added in the days ahead.

Meeting times

  • Thursday, Jan. 17 - Ellerslie Elementary School
  • Monday, Jan. 21 - Morell Regional High School
  • Tuesday, Jan. 22 - Montague Regional High School
  • Thursday, Jan. 24 - Westisle Composite High School. 

All sessions get underway at 6:30 p.m.
