CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Police do not believe foul play was involved in a man’s death resulting from a head injury that occurred in his Mount Herbert home one year ago.
Cpl. Craig Eveleigh of the RCMP’s major crime unit says the investigation remains open, but at this point there is no evidence the death of 29-year-old Tyler Richards is suspicious.
“We’re just tying up loose ends,’’ he says.
“We’re getting some evidence from the family.’’
Eveleigh adds police are providing family members of Richards with regular updates.
Police found Richards in his home in Mount Herbert on Aug. 3, 2018, with a serious head injury. He died after spending a week in hospital in Moncton.
The death resulted in a joint investigation involving the Queens District RCMP, the major crime unit, and New Brunswick’s coroner’s office because the man died in Moncton.
Richards is survived by his parents, Arthur and Leanne Richards, and his brother, Troy.
