RCMP monitor Hells Angels during recent P.E.I. ride

Police officers in P.E.I. are continuing to keep a close eye on outlaw motorcycle gangs.
Police conducted a road check at the Borden-Carleton scales on Friday during a ride that included members of outlaw motorcycle clubs from other provinces.
Officers from Charlottetown, Summerside, and Kensington Police Services, along with RCMP and Highway Safety checked a group of about 30 motorcyclists, which included a large contingent of Hells Angels from New Brunswick and Quebec.
“The road check was conducted for public safety and to ensure compliance with the P.E.I. Highway Traffic Act,” said a statement from police.
Officers issued seven summary offence tickets as well as several verbal warnings during the road check.
During the weekend, police also conducted foot patrols at local hotels and bars to monitor outlaw motorcycle club members.
“Police patrols and monitoring serve to effectively address illegal activities, curb any further illegal activities and ensure public safety,” said the statement.
Police asked anyone with information on outlaw motorcycle clubs being involved in criminal activities to contact their local police agency or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
