BELFAST, P.E.I. — Kings District RCMP is investigating an incident at Belfast Consolidated School.
However, police wouldn’t say Wednesday exactly what took place.
“We have an ongoing investigated dealing with the school,’’ said Sgt. Chris Gunn. “We are working in consultation with the school board to ensure the safety of all students that go to the school.’’
Gunn stressed there is no risk to any of the students at the school.
“We are working diligently with the school board and the staff at the school to ensure that (there is no risk) just like (we would) at any other school on P.E.I.’’
Parker Grimmer, director of the Public Schools Branch, said he couldn’t be any more specific.
“We can confirm an incident took place at Belfast Consolidated,’’ Grimmer said. “The incident is under investigation by the RCMP (but) we are not able to discuss it. There is no threat to any students or staff.’’
