Islanders can expect rain, wind and maybe even snow this Friday and Saturday.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Tuesday for the entire province, warning of a low-pressure system forming off or near the eastern seaboard.

The system is expected to track northeastward towards the Maritimes on Friday and looks to bring rain, strong winds and potentially some snow beginning Friday and ending during the day Saturday.
The weather agency said there is considerable uncertainty in the track and timing of this low, which will affect the amount and type of precipitation expected.

Environment Canada will issue more detailed forecasts and potential warnings as the system draws near.
