Police investigating fatal collision in Clyde River

CLYDE RIVER, P.E.I. – A 33-year-old man died Wednesday night following a two-vehicle collision in Clyde River.

The Queen District RCMP said the collision occurred at 7:10 p.m. on the Bannockburn Road.
A south-bound vehicle lost control, crossed over into the oncoming lane and collided with a north-bound vehicle. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
The male driver of the south-bound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by the first responders.
The two female occupants of the north-bound vehicle were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.
North River Fire Rescue, Queens District RCMP, Island EMS and a RCMP traffic analyst responded to the scene.
Slippery road conditions may have been a contributing factor. This collision is still under investigation.
Queens District RCMP would like to remind the travelling public to exercise caution now that the inclement weather has arrived.
