CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A 26-year-old Anglo Rustico woman and a 28-year-old Stratford man face charges after police responded to an alarm call at the West Royalty Liquor Store on Sunday, Jan. 10 at 4:20 a.m.
Upon arrival, Charlottetown police noticed a smashed window and entry made inside the main entrance. The suspect then attempted to break through a secondary window but failed and did not gain entry into the store.
Officers from the Street Crime Unit were called in to assist in the investigation, which led to the identification of two suspects. Within an hour, the suspects were located driving on the Hillsborough Bridge. The vehicle was pulled over and both individuals were arrested and taken into custody.
The woman was charged with break and enter, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer.
The man has been charged with break and enter, assault on a police officer and breach of probation.
Both have been remanded in custody and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
