Long-time activist Edith Perry earned the nomination for District 2, Georgetown-St. Peters, for the New Democratic Party of P.E.I. at a nomination meeting Feb. 28.
Perry lives in Millview where she raised her family and believes proportional representation will bring real democracy to the Island.
Her passions include poverty alleviation, basic income guarantee and fairness in government.
At the same meeting, Lawrence Millar earned the nomination as an NDP candidate for District 5, Vernon River-Stratford.
Millar thinks workers’ rights and transparency in politics are worth fighting for.
