Auditor general Jane MacAdam has confirmed she will be reviewing the province’s COVID-19 relief programs.

The province has allocated around $40 million for emergency relief programs for businesses, workers and self-employed individuals, although this amount may increase.

MacAdam has been tasked with auditing the relief programs and delivering the results of an audit by August 2021.

In an email, MacAdam said the parameters of her audit have not yet been defined.

MacAdam was due to retire before the coronavirus pandemic began.
