SHEDIAC, N.B. — A 64-year-old West Prince woman is dead following a head-on collision in Shediac, N.B., on Thursday.

Bernice Ellsworth of St. Lawrence died at the scene of an accident after the SUV she was driving was hit by a car that crossed the centre line.

Her passenger, a woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital with what are considered to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The Southeast District RCMP is investigating the crash. 

Shediac RCMP responded to a call at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 7 of a head-on collision between an eastbound SUV and a westbound car on Highway 15.

As a result of the collision, the car caught on fire.

The man driving the car also died at the scene.
