P.E.I. weather, travel updates – More snow in the forecast

Weather

A mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of flurries is expected across the province this morning, then turning sunny.

Northwest wind is expected to gust up to 50 km/h with a high of -11C. With the wind chill, it will feel like -27 C in the morning and -21 C in the afternoon. There is a risk of frostbite.

Tonight it will be clear becoming partly cloudy overnight with northwest wind of 30 km/h becoming light late this evening. Tonight’s low is -18 C, but with the wind chill it will feel like -23 C in the evening.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT: Snow for Thursday – possible accumulation up to 10 cm.

A low-pressure system will approach the Maritimes from New England and track eastward near Nova Scotia on Thursday.

Snow will develop across P.E.I. Thursday morning and then taper off Thursday night.

Accumulating snow is expected across the entire province with amounts possibly reaching 10 cm in some areas.
