Snow and blowing snow will continue across the province Tuesday afternoon with west winds gusting 70-90 km/h. With the wind chill, it will feel like -20 C.

“Meteorological spring is off to a blustery start. Yesterday’s warm up came to an abrupt end overnight. A strong west wind in the wake of the system continues to trigger onshore snow; the wind is strong and cold enough to stream the snow bands right across the province. Local snowfall accumulations could be as high as 10 centimetres, especially over parts of Prince County. That wind is almost responsible for today’s reverse temperature trend. Falling temperatures feel a lot colder when you factor in the wind – dress accordingly. The west wind is expected to linger with gusts of 60 to 70 kilometres per hour on Wednesday. A bright and somewhat milder Thursday will be followed by a cold Friday. Right now, the weekend looks fair, but I am keeping an eye on a snow system that could bring us some snow on Monday.”

Confederation Bridge
Bridge traffic restriction:
For user safety, the Confederation Bridge has restricted certain classes of vehicles from crossing until the current high wind situation changes.
Restricted classes include:
- automobiles towing trailers,
- motorcycles,
- high-sided vehicles including trucks, tractor trailers, recreational vehicles and
- buses.
Bridge restrictions were put into place at 2:10 a.m. on March 2.
