A word from SaltWire Network chief meteorologist Cindy Day:

“The cool-down is coming. Remnants of tropical storm Faye now sits over the Labrador Sea. A trough trailing the weakening low reaches back to a developing system that will bring us some rain late today. The system is slow moving, so the showers are expected to linger into Wednesday morning. The northeast wind rotating around the system will give us a break from the high heat and humidity, but just a break. A warm, southwesterly circulation will set up as we head into the weekend, with humidex values reaching the low-30s again by Sunday.”
