Weather – UV index is very high

Increasing cloudiness throughout the day with south wind gusting to 20 km/h this morning. Today’s high is 23 C, but with the humidex it will feel like 25 C. The UV index is 8, or very high.

Cloudy. A few showers beginning overnight. Fog patches developing near midnight. Wind becoming southeast 20 km/h this evening. Low 13.


Special weather statement: Up to 50 mm rain expected for Friday, Saturday

A low-pressure system will pass through the Maritimes on Friday into Saturday and will spread rain, heavy at times, through the Island beginning in the early morning hours on Friday.

The rain is forecast to persist through Friday night into Saturday before beginning to ease late Saturday night.

Total rainfall amounts may reach or exceed 50 millimetres by the end of this rainfall event and rainfall warnings may be issued.
