Weather – Chance of flurries

A mix of sun and cloud with a 60 per cent chance of flurries expected for the Island today. Wind will gust 70 kilometres per hour with a high of -4 C. With the wind chill, it will feel like -16 C. The UV index is 1, or low.

There is a 60 per cent chance of flurries this evening, clearing before morning. Wind gusting to 50 km/h will become light late this evening. Tonight’s low is -10 C, but with the wind chill it will feel like -17 C.

Charlottetown traffic advisory: Lane closure on Riverside Drive

Riverside Drive between Kensington Road and South Gate Lane will be reduced to one lane travelling out of Charlottetown (towards St. Peters Road). This work is expected to take place between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. today, weather permitting.



Confederation Bridge – Traffic restrictions

For user safety, the Confederation Bridge has restricted certain classes of vehicles from crossing until the current high wind situation changes.

Restricted classes include:

  • automobiles towing trailers,
  • motorcycles,
  • high-sided vehicles including trucks, tractor trailers, recreational vehicles, and buses.

Bridge restrictions were put into place today at 8:33 a.m.
