Weather

It’s going to be cold day across P.E.I., so anyone heading outdoors is advised to dress warmly.

Flurries are expected to end near noon today, followed by a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of flurries. Drifting snow is expected over exposed areas.

Northwest wind of 40 km/h gusting to 70 km/h in most areas and increasing to 90 km/h along parts of the coast are expected this morning.

The temperature will remain steady near -10 C, but with wind chill it will feel like -21 C.

Tonight, partly cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of flurries this evening and clearing overnight. Northwest wind of 20 km/h gusting to 40 km/h are expected, becoming light overnight.

Tonight’s low will be -17 C; -21 C in low lying areas. Wind chill of -19 C is expected in the evening, and -25 C is expected overnight. There is a risk of frostbite.

The wind warning has ended for Prince Edward Island.

Air Canada Jazz flight 7574 scheduled to arrive at 4:31 p.m. from Montreal has been cancelled.

Departure cancellation:

Air Canada Jazz flight 7517 that was set to depart at 6 a.m. heading to Toronto was cancelled.
