SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Despite rumours of vandalism to out-of-province vehicles on P.E.I., local police agencies have received no reports.

Charlottetown Police Services deputy chief Brad MacConnell, Summerside Police Services deputy chief Sinclair Walker and Kensington Police Department chief Lewie Sutherland all confirmed on Wednesday that they’ve not received any complaints.

A spokesperson for the RCMP confirmed on Thursday morning that its four P.E.I. detachments – West Prince, East Prince, Queens and Kings County – have also not been called about any damage.

The spokespersons acknowledged they’ve heard the rumours.

The rumours generated from fears of P.E.I. visitors bringing the coronavirus (COVID-19) into the province.
