CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. man who was caught with plastic-wrapped cocaine in his pocket was sentenced recently to three days in jail.

Peter Noel Chisholm, 29, appeared before Judge John Douglas in provincial court in Charlottetown where he pleaded guilty to cocaine possession.

Federal Crown attorney Andrea Leclair-Shefler told the court the police saw Chisholm walking and arrested him for being unlawfully at large.

In September, Charlottetown police said they arrested Chisholm on Euston Street after he failed to return for his curfew in Saint John while he was on parole.

Chisholm was serving a sentence of six years and four months for several offences, including robbery, mischief and assault.

During Chisholm’s recent court appearance, Leclair-Shefler said the police found a plastic-wrapped substance in Chisholm’s pocket during the arrest, and it later tested positive for cocaine.

The three days will be served concurrent to any other sentence.
