CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A Stratford man who provided breathalyzer samples that were more than three times the legal limit was sentenced recently to 25 days in jail.
Jonathan George Cantelo, 47, appeared before Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Charlottetown for sentencing after pleading guilty to drunk driving.
Cantelo had a prior related conviction.
Before hearing his sentence, Cantelo addressed the court and apologized for his actions.
“I made a stupid mistake,” he said.
Along with the jail time, Cantelo must pay a $2,000 fine and a $600 victim surcharge.
He is also banned from driving for two years.
