CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. man who twice breached his probation by having contact with a woman he was supposed to stay away from was sentenced recently to 105 days in jail.
Neil Francis MacIsaac, 40, appeared before Judge Nancy Orr in provincial court in Charlottetown where he pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching his probation.
Reading from an agreed statement of facts, Crown attorney Nathan Beck told the court the police responded to incidents on Nov. 1 and Nov. 13 during which they found MacIsaac with a woman he was banned from having contact with.
That no-contact condition was part of his probation from a previous conviction.
The court heard MacIsaac had a 25-page criminal record, which included breaches of no-contact orders involving the same woman.
In sentencing MacIsaac, Orr said when he is ordered to have no contact with the woman it means no contact.
“You don’t really seem to be getting that message,” she said.
Along with the jail time, MacIsaac will be on probation for 18 months after his arrest.
