CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A man has been sentenced to time served for threatening to cut open his father with a razor.
John Tyson Boudreault, who had spent 62 days in custody before entering a guilty plea Monday in provincial court, was also placed on 24 months of probation.
Judge John Douglas ordered Boudreault to undergo any assessment, treatment or counselling deemed appropriate.
He was also handed an 18-month weapon prohibition.
The court heard Boudreault had been struggling with psychotic behaviour and bizarre thoughts.
Police received a report from Boudreault’s mother in December that he had made a threatening post against his father on Facebook.
