A P.E.I. man who was charged after a fatal boat collision in 2018 has pleaded not guilty to two counts of criminal negligence causing death.
Clarence Barry White wasn’t in P.E.I. Supreme Court in Charlottetown Tuesday when his case was dealt with by phone because of COVID-19 restrictions.
White’s lawyer entered the not guilty pleas on his behalf.
Chris Melanson, 59, and Justin MacKay, 20, were on a boat in the Murray Harbour area on June 9, 2018, when a second boat collided with it.
Both men died.
A Transportation Safety Board investigation has determined the boat that collided with theirs was on autopilot at the time.
White’s next court date is scheduled for Feb. 9.
