CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. man who was seen driving while he was banned from doing so was recently fined $1,000.
John David Wilson, 43, appeared before Judge Jeff Lantz in provincial court in Charlottetown where he pleaded guilty to driving while prohibited.
The court heard that on April 11, a police officer saw Wilson driving and knew he was on a driving prohibition at the time.
That prohibition was related to a drunk driving conviction.
Defence lawyer Alex Dalton told the court Wilson said he had to move that day and drove because he didn’t have anyone to help him.
Along with the fine, Wilson must pay a $300 victim surcharge and he is banned from driving for 18 months.
