Motorists are paying 3.6 cents per litre (cpl) more at the pumps Friday morning after the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved new petroleum prices overnight.
As of 12:01 a.m., the price at self-serve outlets for regular unleaded gasoline now ranges from 99.6 to 100.7 cpl.
The price of diesel has also increased – by 1.9 cpl – and now ranges from 96.3 to 97.4 cpl.
Also on the rise is furnace oil by 1.9 cpl with a maximum price of 67.3 cpl.
The cost of propane, however, has decreased by 0.8 cpl for Irving Energy Distribution and Marketing, by 0.5 cpl for Superior Propane, by 0.6 cpl for Island Petroleum and by 0.9 cpl for Kenmac Energy Inc. and Noonan Petroleum. Maximum propane prices now range from 70.6 to 71.1 cpl. For current petroleum prices visit irac.pe.ca.
