The price of gas is as low as it has been for 11 years after an unscheduled, 10-cent drop at midnight.
As the price of all petroleum products continues to drop globally, the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission issued the second unscheduled price drop for gas in the last week.
Regular, unleaded gas at self-serve outlets now costs between 83.3 and 84.4 cents per litre. The last time gas was in the 84-cent range was March 2009.
Other petroleum products also got a price adjustment overnight. The price of furnace oil and diesel decreased by 3.0 cpl as of midnight.
The commission’s next scheduled price adjustment is March 20.
