P.E.I. gas prices go up half a cent

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Islanders who didn’t fuel up yesterday didn’t have much of a shock at the pumps this morning. 

The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission increased price of gas by 0.5 cents per litre (cpl) in its regular weekly adjustment Friday. 

Including taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets now ranges from 115.8 cpl to 117.0 cpl. 

Diesel prices increased by 1.1 cpl, and will now range from 124.0 cpl to 125.1 cpl

The cost of furnace oil went up by 1.6 cpl. The maximum price for furnace oil is now 94.2 cpl, including taxes. 

There was no change in propane prices this week. 

The commission’s next scheduled price adjustment is Friday, Aug. 30.
